Adam Bercovici is the founder and principal of Titan National Consulting Group and a nationally recognized expert on police use of force, police best practices, and security policy. A retired Los Angeles Police Department Lieutenant II, he brings more than four decades of law enforcement, security, and investigative experience, and has testified as an expert on police use of force and police best practices in state and federal court.
During his 30-year LAPD career, Adam led some of the department’s premier investigative and tactical assignments, serving as Officer-in-Charge of Robbery–Homicide Division’s Special Investigation Section and Homicide Special Section, and of the Surveillance Special Section assigned to the FBI Violent Crime Task Force and Joint Terrorism Task Force. He supervised complex investigations involving homicide, kidnap for ransom, murder for hire, extortion, and the murders of police officers. He also coordinated police response to major crowd-control events, supervised the deployment of less-lethal munitions at major protests, and earlier served as a Metropolitan Division K-9 handler.
Adam established the selection process for LAPD’s Special Investigation Section and led the working group that authored the LAPD Undercover Directive. He received 50 Bureau and Major Commendations, more than 300 Area Commendations, the LAPD Medal for Bravery, and a Meritorious Unit Citation. After the LAPD, he served as CEO of Critical Solutions Protective Services Group, leading security operations, training, and risk management for major Southern California retail properties. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Claremont McKenna College and California POST certificates through the Management level, and is a member of IACP, NTOA, ASIS, and the International Association of Professional Security Consultants.
At Titan, Adam provides expert testimony, consulting, and investigative services in police practices, use of force, tactical and patrol policy, civil-rights matters, wrongful convictions, complex investigations, and private security practices. As founder and principal, he also leads Titan’s team of professionals.
